Negril sits at Jamaica's western tip, and that position gives it its best feature: the sun sets straight into the Caribbean Sea every evening. Life here moves more slowly. There are fewer big resorts and more small, personal places to stay.
Negril really has two sides. Seven Mile Beach is the long stretch of sand most people picture. The West End is quieter, with dramatic cliffs where you climb down ladders into clear, deep Caribbean Sea instead of walking in from the sand. Most people end up on the Seven Mile Beach side, and people who want romance, quiet and the best sunset views tend to choose the West End.

Choose Montego Bay if you want the shortest trip from the airport, a large resort with golf and a beach on site, or a busier town nearby.
