In hospitality, many important things begin well before check-in. They begin in training, in preparation, in thoughtful planning, and in the conversations that shape future partnerships. They begin in the rooms where trust is built, where relationships are formed, and where the next chapter of a property often takes shape before it ever appears on a reservation report.
That is why I am especially pleased that two members of our team are representing The Cliff at important industry gatherings this week.
Taji Reid is representing the hotel at Caribbean Travel Marketplace 2026, organized by the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association (CHTA). The event is being held in Antigua from May 12 to 15, 2026, and CHTA describes it as an event that connects regional suppliers with global buyers through face-to-face business meetings. Taji has been with The Cliff for nearly a decade and continues to serve in a managerial role spanning both Revenue Management and Industry Sales. She brings experience, steadiness, and a deep understanding of how the property should be positioned in the marketplace. She is a true career hospitality professional, and we are proud to have her representing The Cliff at such an important event.
Taneek James is attending Love Caribbean – Jamaica Edition, hosted by the International Association of Destination Wedding Professionals (IADWP) from May 11 to 14, 2026. As our Wedding and Events Manager, Taneek’s greatest strength is her ability to listen closely to a bride’s desires and tailor the perfect wedding around them. Her creativity has only deepened as The Cliff has been chosen to host three significant events for Jamaica: Walk The Cliff in October, the Jamaica Jerk Championship in December, and the Negril Culinary Classic next April. She, too, is a career hospitality professional, and we are excited to have her representing The Cliff at such an important event.
These are two very different settings, but they serve a similar purpose. They place The Cliff in front of the people who help shape demand, influence perception, and connect the right guests to the right destinations. That matters.
A property like The Cliff should never rely only on being discovered by chance. It should be represented with care, confidence, and clarity in the rooms where future business is built. Whether the conversation is about luxury leisure travel, romance, weddings, or the broader appeal of the West End, these moments help ensure that The Cliff is part of the consideration set for guests and occasions that best fit us.
Just as importantly, participation in these events is about more than one hotel. It is also about helping bring thoughtful attention to the West End and to Jamaica more broadly. When the right people are introduced to the right property in the right context, it can benefit not only a booking calendar but a destination’s wider visibility and momentum.
I am grateful to Taji and Taneek for representing The Cliff this week with professionalism and purpose. Their presence in these rooms is part of the larger work of building awareness, strengthening relationships, and ensuring that The Cliff's future is shaped with intention.
In hospitality, the aura of private luxury is built long before a guest arrives.
